Aakhlo is a research tool for reading public company filings. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted. We collect as little as the app needs to work.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google also shares your name and profile picture with us. We use them only to show your picture (or your initials) in the corner of the screen, where only you see it. We never see your Google password.
- Your research questions. The questions you ask in Research and the Ask panel, and the answers. Your last 10 are saved to your account so you can reopen them.
- Your portfolio. The companies and share counts you enter. Only you can see them.
- Theses, notes and feedback. Theses you start, notes and feedback you leave, and review decisions. These are shared with other signed-in users and are shown with your email address.
- Technical data. A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and your light or dark theme choice, stored in your browser. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your saved questions and portfolio in your account.
- To answer your questions and run the thesis panel.
- To keep the service working and secure, including daily usage limits.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run Aakhlo:
- Supabase stores the database and handles sign-in (servers in the United States).
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google (Gemini API) receives the text of your research questions and thesis questions, along with excerpts from public SEC filings, to produce answers. We use Google's free tier, and under its terms Google may use this content to improve its products. Please don't type personal or confidential information into questions. Your portfolio is never sent to Google or any AI model.
- Google Sign-In, if you choose it, to confirm who you are.
Company data comes from the SEC's EDGAR system, Tiingo (prices) and Finnhub (financial ratios). We only request public company information from them. None of your information is sent to any of them.
How long we keep it
- Your account, portfolio and saved questions: until you ask us to delete them.
- Saved research questions: only your 10 most recent. Older ones are deleted automatically.
- Shared answers to common questions: kept for up to 30 days so repeat questions don't use the AI allowance again. These aren't linked to your account.
- Theses and review decisions: kept as a permanent record, because the point of a review trail is that it can be checked later.
Your choices
- You can clear your saved questions at any time with the Clear button in Research.
- You can change or empty your portfolio at any time on the Portfolio page.
- To delete your account and everything linked to it, email kin.pat@gmail.com from the address you sign in with. We'll delete it within 30 days. Theses you started stay in the shared record, but your account is removed from them.
- You can also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Portfolios and saved questions can only be read by the account they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password on the email or Google account you sign in with.
Children
Aakhlo is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and its effective date. For significant changes, we'll tell signed-in users in the app. See also our Terms of Use.
